Empathos

Empathos Media

We remember who we are to one another.

Empathos Media creates thoughtful, fact-based stories and community experiences that explore the fullness of American life, including the truths that inspire us and the truths that challenge us.

Our Purpose

Telling the Rest of the American Story

Stories can help us see what arguments cannot. The stories we tell about who belongs, who matters, and who deserves dignity shape the world we build. Empathos offers a fuller account of the American experience, including history that inspires us and history that asks more of us.

Empathos centers women's voices because those voices have too often been minimized or left out. The work is women-centered, not women-exclusive, and welcomes men who are willing to listen, learn, and participate with respect.

What We Do

Where the mission comes to life

Empathos works through editorial voices that tell difficult truths and community programs that turn those truths into participation, relationship, and action.

Editorial voices

BEI Podcast and Wyzwoman Says use conversation, commentary, poetry, and story to examine American life.

Community expression

Everybody As Our Own (EBAOO) turns the philosophy into participation and action, including Hear & Now Conversations.

A shared approach

Across both branches, difficult truths are told with empathy, dignity, and respect for the humanity of the people involved.
